Conclusion

Going into this research I thought I'd learn things that wouldn't have come to much of a surprise to me; In fact I didn't have much knowledge of Pixar at all, I was familiar with their films and a couple of their shorts, but that was it. The biggest surprises for me was learning that they stemmed from LucasArts and that Steve Jobs was the first big investor.

Other people on the course had said choosing Pixar for this research portfolio was too obvious, but for me, regardless of what people may have known about Pixar, I didn't. I've learnt a lot about where everything started, for which i'm really pleased to have chosen Pixar.

Pixar really get's to the soul of emotion in animation and I'm sure for hundreds of millions of people it holds very fond memories throughout their lives, not just people child hood. They have developed and grown, they have a consistent level of quality animation that although their first feature was their best still doesn't disappoint the masses. John Lasseter has been instrumental in their success, a bit like Steve Jobs for Apple, and Bill Gates for Microsoft. It's strange how all company have dealings with each other in such a short amount of time. Pixar is ever pushing the boundaries of animation and I hope for many years of quality Pixar animations to come.
